When David Ashforth carried out his
racecourse tour in the Racing Post, it seemed oddly constructed, as his
bizarre obsession with big screens, even at places like Fakenham where
the furthest the horses ever get into the 'distance' is 400m, and his
rating of the quality of racing, which a single visit does not give a
representation of skewing the data. S0, the obvious solution was a
complete rip-off, from a different personal perspective - i.e. this
page!
Points are as follows: Car Parking (C): 1: Inaccessible 2: Dictatorial attendants forcing chaos on
entry and conspicuously absent at end when exits are choked 3: Bareable 4: Good ingress and egress Trains (T): 1: Station in a different country 2: Probably irrelevant - long walk 3: Bus provided but at nobody’s convenience 4: Station near, trains occasional / good bus
laid on if not near 5: Station near, trains great Setting (S): 1: Industrial wasteland 2: Nondescript 3: I can see for miles and miles and miles 4: Pleasant country vista Viewing (V): 1: Need a helicopter 2: Partially obstructed, e.g. a large hill or
