Welcome to the UK-Jumping.com
THIS IS THE
GUIDE TO NATIONAL HUNT RACING AT THE SMALL COURSES AROUND BRITAIN
And it is now the totally rebranded UK-Jumping.com,
which, like other rebrandings, means being mostly the same in content,
but a bit smaller. Obviously, it is a different colour, and that's what
matters most! With the changes it is not clear if the next statement is
still valid - especially as the great man's retirement means that the
fan club will not be able to give the new site the thumbs up (or down).
'Award Winning UK-Jumping'
as I am delighted to gloat
that the site was voted website of the year by the nation's most discerning
electorate, The Leighton Aspell Fan Club. Thanks to all those who combined to
provide the ultimate accolade
HORSE
RACING
And it is apparently now illegal for any website not to a have a collage*,
so here is one

(*obscure clause in anti-terror legislation as a montage of
pictures with an off-centre caption are to a terrorist what a garlic crucifix is
to a vampire)

20/1/08: A
couple of new equestrian, but not necessarily racing related, links, so
they are in the Various - Non Racing section
Instead of a quote of
the week, which is unique to here and 3 million other websites, it is
now time to settle with just the one, which has served mankind well in
arenas beyond racing, but serves to remind us that the horse is the
ultimate leveller.
"History shows again and
again, how nature points out the folly of men."
from Blue Oyster Cult's
'Godzilla'
For anyone who is actually wondering what the changes
are, Links, FAQ and Empire are more or less unchanged. Courses is a bit
more concise, without any having to drill onward for pictures. Horses
has one or two cosmetic changes, but the main page still holds links to
a page per month for selections and a summary page. Reports will remain
having a link to a page per meeting, but the reports are intended to be
a bit more concise, to focus on points of interest, and cutting down on
text for the sake of it - less bad puns and repetitive jokes, hopefully
(although the history back to the start of 2007 remains for now).
The various waffle pages, on the old site Musings, Mammals and
The Rest have all been rolled into one page, World Of Sport, although in
the interest of keeping people confused, non-sports stuff could still
appear there!
It may take a short while to completely replicate the precious archive
of guff. Selling Winner of the Fortnight has outlived it's useful
existence, by many years, but it is planned to adopt a sort of heroes and
villains page to cover the last month or so. Tried before, it was rubbish, but
one more try can only do limited harm.
Looking for ideas with what to use the little space at the top
left for - any suggestions?
By keeping the site simpler, it is planned to update more
often in the course of the month, but the road to hell is paved with good intentions... The unused message board has gone, but the Search
tool remains in the side bar.
